This is how you dress your baby in the carrier in winter
Many parents ask themselves: “What should I wear my child in the carrier?”. We'll give you a few valuable tips along the way:
You are the best heater
The current weather makes us think every day about which clothes are suitable so that my baby doesn't freeze while wearing it, but also doesn't overheat. Basically, you should know that you and your baby stay warm with a body temperature of 37 degrees. You are the best heater.
A baby belongs under your own jacket
To retain heat, a baby should be worn under its own jacket. The carrying aid also replaces a layer of clothing, so a long-sleeved bodysuit and a long-sleeved shirt underneath are sufficient. Two layers on the legs are also sufficient.
Gauntlets are an alternative
Due to the diaper, the crotch is the warmest place and this can sometimes make your baby uncomfortable. Therefore, avoid many layers of fabric and it is best to use cuffs or wool socks that only reach to the groin. The cuffs can alternatively serve as sun protection in summer and can also be used for the arms.
The feet need space
If you're considering tights, make sure there's enough room around your feet. If necessary, choose a larger clothing size. Rompers or pajamas should also offer enough space for the feet, because squatting shortens the trouser leg and, colloquially, flood occurs. You can also warm your feet with lambskin shoes.
Wear over your own jacket
If wearing it under your jacket is not an option for you, it is best to dress your baby in a wool fuller suit. This has the property of having a temperature-regulating effect and is a better choice than a polyester snowsuit, which does not retain heat. The right headgear is also important in any case and should not be underestimated, because a lot of heat can be lost through the fontanelle.
Protection against moisture
If it rains or snows, you can use our rain cover. This protects the baby carrier from getting wet. It fits all standard baby carriers and has practical pockets for your hands.
And if you are very unsure, it is best to measure the temperature before and after leaving the house. A body temperature between 36.5 degrees and 37.5 degrees is optimal.
