What suits you – baby sling or baby carrier?

A baby carrier and a baby sling are two popular ways to carry your baby close to your body. While both methods have their advantages, there are certain reasons why a baby carrier may be a better choice for you.

Here are some advantages of a baby carrier compared to a baby sling:

  1. Easier to handle: A baby carrier is usually easier to handle than a baby sling. While you have to wrap a baby sling, you can simply put on a baby carrier and get started. If you have any questions about wearing it, we even offer you free wearing advice. So nothing can go wrong ;)

  2. More comfortable for longer periods of time: If you plan to carry your baby for longer periods of time, a baby carrier may be more comfortable. You can distribute your baby's weight evenly across both shoulders and your back, reducing pressure on certain areas. The shoulder straps of the sandiia® baby carrier can also be fanned out, which promotes weight distribution. A baby sling can sometimes be too tight or uneven and therefore may be more uncomfortable.

  3. More versatile: A baby carrier can usually be worn in different ways, depending on your baby's age and your needs. You can carry your baby in the front or back, giving you more flexibility and versatility. A baby sling usually has a limited number of ways it can be worn or requires a lot of practice and knowledge.

  4. Easy to share: A baby carrier is often easier to share than a baby sling. If you and your partner both want to carry the baby, it is easier to pass the baby carrier from one person to the other than to re-wrap the baby sling each time. The baby carrier from sandiia® is suitable for women and men.

  5. Quicker to put on: If you're on the go and need a quick way to carry your baby, a baby carrier can be quicker and easier to put on than a baby sling. You don't have to take the time to wrap the cloth, you can just put the baby in the carrier and get started.

  6. Safer & more ergonomic: A baby carrier like the one from sandiia® can be put on very easily and intuitively. This also ensures the safety of your baby. Tying a sling is a little more complicated and you can do a few things wrong so that the ergonomics are no longer guaranteed.
  7. Long service life: You can use a baby carrier for longer than a baby sling, as slings will eventually no longer be able to withstand the weight of the child and will wear out. You can use the baby carrier from sandiia® until your baby weighs approx. 15 kg. For small children you can switch to our toddler carrier

Overall, each method has its advantages and disadvantages, and it is important to choose the one that best suits your needs and preferences. However, if you're looking for a simple, comfortable and versatile option that's suitable for extended periods of wear, a baby carrier can be a great choice.
